Medal of Honor of the City Council of Barcelona
The City Council awards the Medal of Honor to 25 people or entities with the purpose of “honoring those who, with their effort, have contributed to the development of public and civic awareness, as well as its values and virtues”.
One of the awarded entities in 2008 was UNA-Spain, for “its important task spreading the values of the United Nations that it has performed since 1962, promoting the collaboration between the institutions and the civil society, and on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights”. This award has been a recognition of the historical ties between UNA-Spain and the City Council of Barcelona, which encourages us to carry on with our work spreading and promoting Human Rights, from the city of Barcelona to the world.
